Dax T.S. Mitchell

Co-Founder & Principal

Mr. Mitchell brings a wealth of experience with a successful track record spanning 25 years in commercial real estate development and middle market private equity. A 7th generation Texan, he maintains a strong connection to his community and its values. Mr. Mitchell holds an active California Broker’s License, is an engaged alumnus of both the Culver Military Academy in Culver, IN, and the University of Texas at Austin where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in History. He also serves on the board of the Bradley Nowell Family Foundation, the Advisory Counsel of the University of Texas at Austin College of Liberal Arts and 5 corporate boards.

Andrew Gi

Co-Founder & Principal

Mr. Gi is a seasoned investor and valuation expert with 20 years of experience in the real estate industry. He holds an active California broker’s license, along with the prestigious CCIM and MAI designations. Additionally, Mr. Gi is an approved instructor for the Appraisal Institute, demonstrating his deep knowledge and expertise in the field. Before co-founding MAG Capital Partners in 2015, he specialized in complex valuations of unconventional developments, mixed-use properties, and niche and special-use assets as an MAI Appraiser. Mr. Gi earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley. Outside of work, he is dedicated to his family, church, and community, making a positive impact in California and beyond.

Neil Wahlgren

Partner, MAGCP Fund Management, LP

Mr. Wahlgren brings over 20 years of leadership experience in operations and capital markets. Before joining MAG Capital Partners in 2019, he led a Bay Area real estate investment firm, overseeing the acquisition of approximately $500 million in income-producing commercial real estate. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and flew planes for both the Air Force and Navy, accumulating 2500 flight hours and serving on combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Wahlgren holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Research from the Air Force Academy and an MBA from Texas A&M. He resides in San Francisco, CA with his wife and son.

Steven Sigfusson

PARTNER, CORPORATE ACQUISITIONS

Mr. Sigfusson plays a key role at MAG Capital Partners, overseeing corporate acquisitions as well as serving as the current CEO of Richie Automotive and Managing Director of Superior Concrete, both portfolio companies of MAGCP. His extensive experience and expertise have greatly contributed to the success of these ventures. Prior to joining our team in early 2021, Mr. Sigfusson held the position of CEO at Gamma Aerospace, a renowned manufacturer of aerospace and defense components. During his tenure at Gamma, he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills, driving the overall strategy, managing the P&L, cultivating customer relationships, fostering organic growth, executing M&A activities, overseeing capital expenditures, and assembling a high-performing leadership team. Before his time at Gamma, Mr. Sigfusson served as a Director at Ashland Capital Partners, a private equity firm specializing in the growth of companies in the lower-middle market. His responsibilities at Ashland included managing the firm’s operations, originating new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, executing transactions, and overseeing portfolio management. Mr. Sigfusson earned a Bachelor of Science degree from William Jewell College and holds an MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. His exceptional academic background has complemented his practical experience, making him a valuable asset to our team.

Scott Word

PARTNER, SWORD INDUSTRIAL PARTNERS

In 2024 in collaboration with the Principals of MAG Capital Partners, Mr. Word formed Sword Industrial Partners with focus on multi-tenant, infill Industrial real estate in the Western United States. Prior to forming Sword Industrial Partners, he was a Principal at Rising Realty Partners in Los Angeles, California where he led the formation and implementation of the industrial platform. Mr. Word oversaw all industrial acquisition activities, including sourcing, strategy and market expansion for the multi-tenant light industrial (MTLI) and IOS strategies. He has acquired ~$325 million of MTLI assets over the last three and a half years. Prior to joining Rising, Mr. Word held Principal positions with Landmark Realty Partners, Dvele, Waypoint and Steelwave (formerly Legacy Partners). Mr. Word led acquisition and development activities in these roles, completing over $1.7B of value-add industrial and office acquisitions. He began his professional career with The Seeley Company, one of the oldest and most established industrial brokerage firms in Los Angeles, where he was a Partner. Scott resides in Newport Beach, CA.

Eric Wood

SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT, ACQUISITIONS

Mr. Wood joined MAG Capital Partners in 2024 as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions. Prior to joining MAG, Mr. Wood enjoyed a 9-year tenure at STORE Capital (~$15bn AUM), where he was most recently a Senior Managing Director. In this role, he oversaw a team of four Managing Directors and was responsible for brokered transactions throughout the country.  In his 7 years in the acquisitions department, he and his team were responsible for over $2.5bn in transaction volume.  Mr. Wood began his career at STORE in 2015 as a Real Estate Analyst in the Underwriting Department.

Mr. Wood graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle and stayed in the Pacific Northwest after school, where he worked for Altria Group.  Mr. Wood currently resides in Phoenix with his wife, Searcy; daughter, Laura; and standard poodle, Willa. Outside of work, Mr. Wood enjoys hiking, mountain biking, tennis, live music, and weekend trips around Arizona.

Ethan Smith

ACQUISITIONS

Mr. Smith joined MAG Capital Partners in 2024 following his role in Acquisitions and Investor Reporting with Birge & Held Asset Management in Indianapolis, Indiana. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance with a concentration in Real Estate from Texas Christian University. Mr. Smith currently resides in Dallas, Texas where he enjoys listening to live music and going to the various sporting events in the city.

Drew Wahlgren

VICE PRESIDENT, CAPITAL MARKETS

Mr. Wahlgren serves as the Vice President of Capital Markets at MAG Capital Partners, where he oversees both equity and lending relationships. He joined the company in 2019 following a successful 8-year tenure as a risk analyst and program manager at Liberty Mutual Insurance. Mr. Wahlgren holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from California State University at Hayward. He resides in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area with his wife and three children, and enjoys spending quality time outdoors with his family.

Amanda Brown

DIRECTOR, CAPITAL MARKETS

Mrs. Brown joined MAG Capital Partners in 2022 as the Director of Capital Markets, bringing with her 20 years of experience in real estate sales and education. Before venturing into real estate, she held positions as a college professor and worked in the publishing industry. Mrs. Brown holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Education from National University. She also holds an active California real estate license.

Currently residing in Laguna Beach, California, Mrs. Brown lives with her husband and children.

Amanda Oelrich

DIRECTOR, CAPITAL MARKETS

Mrs. Oelrich joined the MAG Capital Partners team in 2022, bringing with her a 22-year career in sales and consulting. Previously, she served as a voluntary benefits subject matter expert at Brown and Brown, where she worked with numerous Fortune 500 companies. Prior to that, Mrs. Oelrich held the position of Assistant Vice President/Account Executive at Aon, focusing on consulting, building relationships, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Mrs. Oelrich holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Latin Business from the University of Texas. She resides in Austin with her husband and two children.

Russell O’Brien

STRATEGIC CAPITAL MARKETS

Mr. O’Brien brings over 28 years of experience in investment management. At MAGCP, he focuses on nurturing strategic relationships with investors. His prior roles include serving as Senior Solutions Director at Aberdeen Standard Investments, co-founding Nu Paradigm Investment Partners, and holding senior positions at FLAG Capital Management, Russell Investments, and Credit Suisse. He holds a BA in social/psychology from Tufts University and is a registered attorney in the state of Massachusetts, having earned his JD from Suffolk University Law School. Mr. O’Brien resides in Boston and takes pride in being the father of Harrison O’Brien, who also played baseball for Tufts University.

John Edwards

Strategic Capital Markets

John brings decades of global investment experience, having led institutional capital raising and strategy across Europe, Asia, and the U.S. UK-trained and beginning his career at Ivory & Sime in Edinburgh, he later launched their U.S. platform, building a national presence for international strategies. At Newgate Capital, he expanded global offerings ranging from Shariah-compliant portfolios in Malaysia to emerging market credit strategies across Asia-Pacific. He most recently led investor relations for a hedge fund built around Ensemble Active Management, a new and innovative investment theory. John is an avid golfer, lifelong rugby fan, and passionate traveler who never passes up a good curry or a sharp turn of phrase. John resides in Boston, MA.

Nicole Daeila

STRATEGIC CAPITAL MARKETS

Ms. Daeila joined MAG Capital Partners in 2023, bringing with her a Bachelor of Science in Business Analytics and Finance as a graduate of Seattle University. Formerly, she served as a quantitative analyst at SanMar, where she worked in their Sustainability division. She transitioned to taking the role of a Project Manager at BidonWork, showcasing strong skills in relationship-building, data management, and growth strategy. She is currently in the process of obtaining her CCIM certification. Ms. Daeila resides in Santa Monica, where she enjoys playing tennis and spending time in nature during her free time.

Cole Rothwell

STRATEGIC CAPITAL MARKETS

Mr. Rothwell joined MAG Capital Partners in 2024 as a Strategic Partner. Prior to MAG, Mr. Rothwell worked at Crow Holdings for 13 years in multiple different roles including oversight and management of a $2bn+ real estate portfolio owned by the Crow Family. Mr. Rothwell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Texas Christian University and resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife and two children

John Dehn

VICE PRESIDENT, RISK AND CREDIT

Mr. Dehn brings extensive experience in underwriting middle market credits, particularly in the private equity and commercial real estate sectors. He joined MAG Capital Partners in 2020, following his role as a Director at Zillow (NASDAQ: ZG). Prior to Zillow, Mr. Dehn served as the Team Leader of Credit Underwriting at STORE Capital (NYSE: STOR) in Scottsdale, Arizona. During his time at STORE, he successfully underwrote and closed over $2.5 billion in single tenant sale leasebacks.

Before his tenure at STORE, Mr. Dehn gained valuable experience in financial reporting and audits at VEREIT (NYSE: VER), and earlier in his career, he worked as an auditor at both American Express (NYSE: AXP) and Brown & Brown Insurance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Arizona at Tucson.

Scott Minkowsky

VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE RISK

Mr. Minkowsky leads underwriting and risk advisory at MAG Capital Partners for middle market real estate and operating companies. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, he worked as a Senior Credit Analyst at STAG Industrial (NYSE: STAG) for over 7 years, assessing tenant credit risk and conducting financial analysis. He also gained experience at State Street (NYSE: STT) overseeing loan and structured product accounting.

Mr. Minkowsky holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Maine and an MBA from the Boston College Graduate School of Management. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Christa Ting

SENIOR CONTROLLER

Prior to joining MAG Capital Partners in 2020, Mrs. Ting held accounting positions in New York City at Rothstein Kass, Clarion Partners, Northstar Asset Management and Anbau Enterprises. She is a Certified Public Accountant with over 10 years experience in the financial services and real estate industries. Mrs. Ting received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Northeastern University, Boston, MA and resides in Connecticut with her husband and daughters.

Melissa Moss

CONTROLLER

Ms. Moss joined MAG Capital Partners in 2022 after working at Whitley Penn LLP, where she focused on the MAGCP tax advisory account. With 10 years of experience in the public accounting industry, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Western Governors University and a Bachelor of Science in Management and HR from Park University, Missouri. Ms. Moss previously served on the Board of Directors for Mid-Cities Supporters of SafeHaven for 5 years, including two years as President and three years as Treasurer. She is also a registered IRS Enrolled Agent, the highest qualification a civilian can receive from the IRS. Ms. Moss resides in Fort Worth, TX with her son and daughter.

Tara Trigg

Senior Accountant

An accomplished professional with an outstanding 26-year accounting career, Ms. Trigg brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her role as the Senior Accountant. Previously, she worked at a solar company overseeing the accounting department, managing daily accounting operations, optimizing financial procedures, and putting cost-effective plans into place. Before that, she worked for a respectable accounting firm where she earned the organization numerous 5-star reviews by providing outstanding bookkeeping services and developing strong client relationships. When she’s not working, Ms. Trigg likes to spend time with her family in Austin, Texas.

Trey Forester

Senior Tax Manager

Trey Forester is a Certified Public Accountant with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Texas at Tyler. Prior to joining MAG Capital Partners, Mr. Forester spent 10 years in public accounting working in Federal and State Tax compliance, including 7 years with Moss Adams. Today, he lives in Allen, TX with his wife and two boys. He likes to spend his free time going to his kids’ activities and enjoys going to live sporting events.

Josh Hickman

PRESIDENT, FACILITIES AND CONSTRUCTION

Mr. Hickman is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Construction and Facilities Management at MAG Capital Partners. With over 28 years of experience in the construction industry, he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role. Before joining the company in 2016, Mr. Hickman owned a successful commercial contracting firm based in Sacramento, CA. His clients included notable organizations such as Pan Pacific Retail Properties (REIT), Kennedy Wilson Properties (NYSE: KW), Ravel Properties, County of Sacramento, El Dorado County, and Stafford King Wiese Architects.

Mr. Hickman pursued his studies in structural engineering and construction management at Sacramento State University. He currently resides between Lake Tahoe and Sacramento with his wife and three daughters.

Deloris McKnight

Senior Accountant

Deloris McKnight has over 30 years of experience in the accounting field. Before joining MAG Capital Partners, she worked at Sonida Living, formerly known as Capital Senior Living, for 18 years. During her time there, she served as the Corporate Property Account Manager for 8 years, where she was responsible for property acquisitions, fixed assets, and various month-end accounting duties. Additionally, she held the position of Accounts Payable Manager and served as the Wells Fargo Purchasing Card Administrator for 10 years. In her free time, Deloris enjoys spending quality moments with God, her family, and friends. She also loves thrifting and refurbishing old furniture.

Vanessa Kemp

VICE PRESIDENT, OPERATIONS

Ms. Kemp serves as Vice President of Operations and supports the daily responsibilities of both the executive and investor relations teams. Prior to joining MAG Capital Partners in 2018, she oversaw the daily management of 1000 multifamily units across Texas, Oklahoma and California for 8 years for a private Los Angeles based real estate firm. Ms. Kemp resides in Dallas, TX with her two daughters.

Emily Risley

Director, Asset Management

Prior to joining MAG Capital Partners, Mrs. Risley spent many years supporting Executive teams in the private and public sectors in day-to-day operations and leading strategic initiatives, including 5 successful years at RealPage, Inc. Prior to that, she served 6 years in the Army Reserves as a Human Resources Specialist while furthering her civilian administrative career. Born and raised in Central Texas, Emily is a former rodeo queen with humble country roots. Today, she lives in Waco, TX with her husband and two kids. She loves to play tennis and spends her free time reading.

Joyce Aslanian

OPERATIONS

Ms. Aslanian joined the MAG Capital Partners team in 2023 after five years as a high performing sales specialist in the Telecom industry. Prior to her sales career, Ms. Aslanian represented Sony Electronics and LVMH in a wide variety of live marketing campaigns across Southern California. Ms. Aslanian currently resides in Dallas and enjoys dancing, teaching group fitness classes and traveling in her free time.

Julie Hogan

OPERATIONS

Prior to joining MAG Capital Partners, Ms. Hogan had a successful career in healthcare operations, serving the industry in Home Care, Palliative Care and Hospice. Ms. Hogan went on to create a community healthcare start-up in Tennessee which was acquired in 2019 by a large Non-profit Hospice company where she served as VP of Operations on their senior leadership team. Ms. Hogan has one daughter and 2 grandchildren and resides in South Carolina. She enjoys many outdoor activities, multimedia painting and is a member of the Society of Bluffton Artists.
